12 August 2015: Tatweer Petroleum, the company responsible for the development of the Bahrain Oil Field, has started its 5th edition of its annual summer internship program for university students. Over thirty students from local and overseas universities have been selected to work in the company’s various departments for a period of two months.
Tatweer CEO Mr. Andrew Kershaw met with the summer interns at a “meet and greet” session at Tatweer Petroleum Headquarters in the presence of the Tatweer management. “This program provides the interns with a valuable insight into working at a professional, performance-driven work environment within the oil and gas industry,” he said. “The interns will be exposed to a wide range of skill sets and disciplines through the new rotation scheme we have applied to the program this year.”
It is part of Tatweer’s mission to provide employment and economic growth opportunities to the people of Bahrain. The company has invested over 129,000 man-hours of training in 2014 and has a Bahrainization rate of over 74%.
