“The year 2022, which marked the 90th anniversary of the first oil discovery, was full of many honorable and unprecedented achievements in the exploration and production sector, which are a matter of great pride.”

On behalf of myself and my fellow directors, I wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of the Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding) for the effective and continuous support to Tatweer Petroleum’s efforts towards supporting the oil and gas exploration and production sector and in upgrading the activities of this vital sector to meet the aspirations of the Kingdom’s wise Leadership and further the national economy.

The year 2022, which marked the 90th anniversary of the first oil discovery, was full of many honorable and unprecedented achievements in the exploration and production sector, which are a matter of great pride. Tatweer Petroleum has faced many challenges due to the maturing of the Bahrain Field and the difficulty of exploration operations, but with the guidance and continuous support of our wise Leadership, the Company successfully managed to overcome such challenges with full confidence. Tatweer Petroleum remains optimistic towards the future prospects for the continuation of oil and gas production in-line with the strategic plan developed and the commencement of exploration activities of the deep layers, which will effectively and efficiently contribute to the achievement of the goals and targets of the Company.

From this perspective, the Annual Report of Tatweer Petroleum for the year 2022 is titled “Bright Prospects and Ambitious Aspirations for Exploration and Production in 2022 and Beyond”. The main concept of the report revolves around the efforts and initiatives of our long-standing company in developing the future opportunities of this sector, as well as the numerous successes and achievements that the Company has achieved in this vital field despite the challenging circumstances faced during the year 2022.

Tatweer Petroleum has continued with determination and enthusiasm to implement the ambitious strategic plans, as well as to follow up on each and every promising prospect and initiative that the Company has been implementing over the past year whilst anticipating the Company’s future plans and programs being developed in order to meet the long-term requirements and needs of the Kingdom’s energy sector. In addition, the Annual Report reviews the pioneering and unique activities of the Company in exploring the deep layers that will enable it to access additional resources to continue to meet the growing demand for natural gas, which plays a critical role in the development of the national economy.
