Dr. Edward J. Hanley

Dr Hanley received his engineering doctorate from Purdue University in Indiana, US. He completed the executive program form the Anderson School of Management at the University of Californian Los Angles (UCLA).

Dr Hanley’s professional career in oil and gas exploration and development spans for more than 30 years. Prior to his current post, he served as president and general manager of Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Ltd, president of Occidental Qatar Energy resources and Occidental Resources Company (Qatar).

Having first joined Occidental Petroleum in 1978, Dr Hanley worked in several senior positions at the company in the US including asset development manager for the Elk Hills oil field in California, business team leader of Occidental’s southern region operations, reservoir engineering manager for the US Gulf coast region and, overseas, vice-president operations Qatar.
